Desperate Serbian Partisan: We are betrayed! While Austrian forces have invaded our country, both Italy and Russia have stood idly by and done nothing! Serbian mothers and children are being slaughtered while you watch! How could you allow Austria to grow so strong at our expense! Do you not realize that you will be the next targets when all Serbian resistance is gone?

Il Duce: Czar, why have your forces not done as they were supposed to in the spring and invaded Galicia? Now the Austrians have you in a vice grip, while your soldiers dither about in the Ukraine.

Czar: Shut up, you fool! Those damn Ukranians were revolting again, and it was necessary to send Russian forces in to subdue them. Now they will learn the price of their treachery during the upcoming long, cold Russian winter. See how the peasants grovel now as their farms burn! They shall face such a famine that all thought of revolution will be gone from their weak minds! As for the Austrians, why have you not followed through on your promises and invaded Trieste?

Il Duce: There have been some - delays. It seems that General Massimo decided that invading Trieste was unwise. Instead of following orders, he spread treasonous slander against the Kingdom of Italy! Imagine, a general telling all that Italy should not

attack since the kingdom is doomed to failure like every other military venture it has endeavoured on before! Such Treason! Rest assured that the general is no longer the head of the Italian army. In fact, he has been disposessed of his own head for such

treason. A new General is now in command, and he has assured me that Italy will obtain a swift victory in Trieste this fall.

Czar: Very well, but this time I will accept no excuses! The Austrians must be brought to heel! We MUST see that Vienna burns by this time next year! With Italian forces moving to Trieste while the glorious Russian army secures Rumania and Galicia, the Austrians will stand helpless before us! Worry not, Serbia, Austria shall pay mightily for the injustices she commits!

Desperate Serbian Partisan: (thinking to self) Well, I hope this time Russia and Italy follow through on their promises. Nevertheless, I must prepare for the worst. I will have to instruct the Black Hand to prepare for a long, hard fight for freedom. I will send out the orders tonight, codenamed R/I/NMR!
