Ber: The scene: Private audience chamber of the German Crown Prince. Present: Crown Prince, Chief of Staff and assembled high command.

CP: "Right, which one of you lot took my father on an inspection tour of two armies???"

Silence but everybody else presents looks at a worried General at the back of the room who timidly raises his hand after a few seconds pause.

CP: "So you're the one are you what's you're name?"

General: " General Scheiss mien Prinz"

CP: " Let me ask you a question or two General" said the Prince, striding forward towards him. "Did it not occur to you that letting a madman talk to two armies was dangerous?"

General: " But he iz ze Kaiser mien Prinz!"

CP: "Just because he's the Kaiser doesn't make him any less mad General!!"

G: "I suppose not"

CP: " I suppose not" mimicked the now furious Prince. " And did it not occur to you to countermand his order's to attack Austria and Italy?"

G: " Ehhhh........no?? mien Prinz"

CP: "So now we are at war with England, we have had to make peace with our sworn enemies France and we have a paltry 2 armies attacking our FORMER allies Austria and Italy. MIEN GOT!!!" shouted the Prince. You are hereby demoted to private 3rd class and sent to Sweden to dig latrines for the Navy, Now get out of my sight"

The forlorn ex-general leaves the room as the Crown Prince turns to the rest of the room.............

CP "Right what good news do you have for me???"

The assembled crowd looks at each other for a few seconds before one of them turns to the Prince and hesitatingly says... " The French are better cooks????"

The Prince sinks in to his chair with his face in his hands groaning

"I knew I shouldn't have got out of bed today!!!"

He is then led away to have a quiet lay down.
