I'm Ally Bain & as you know I'm your GM for this game. By being neutral I'm able to answer any questions as long as they don't upset my status in the game.

My son & I have a number of tropical freshwater fish tanks & therefore I've called this game 'Emperor tetra' as it's a common name for a fish. Emperor tetra, Nematobrycon palmeri as their scientific name, is in the Characins family. They swim in forest streams in Colombia. As like tetras they are community fish. Future maps will have a picture of them.

Within a handful of days you must submit these seasons’ orders. The reason being that if I don't receive orders from one or more players, the game will be delayed until they've been replaced.

As I'm sure you know, sadly during games people often NMR & if done again in the next season, they go into Anarchy. I would ask that you consider how long games last and if you feel you can't continue playing for that period of time, I would ask that you to notify me. As an example, I would think the game will last for up to half a year.

I'm slightly delaying the Deadline for this season which is due to things that will be mentioned below HOWEVER please note that if you don’t know, in the ‘Subject’ line in your e-mail MUST state ‘Emperor tetra - - ’, e.g. Emperor tetra – Italy – A04.

Regarding myself, about four years ago I wrote an auto-biog & have sometimes updated it. Within it, I write about my son, Graeme, the two brain operations I had, my career plus my other half, Sally & a number of other things, etc. You can read it via the Web address:

Diplomacy 2000 houserules, http://www.lancedal.demon.co.uk/dip2000/diprules/diprules.htm, apply except the following:

1. All players' identities will be kept secret until the end of the game.

2. There is to be no diplomacy between players. If you accidentally find out who a fellow player is then you must not talk to him about the game. If you do you will be ejected.

3. Deadlines will normally be weekly but as soon as I get a full set of orders, etc, I'll adjudicate. If however you wish me to adjudicate after the Deadline, write ‘Provisional Orders’ together with the other stuff in your e-mail ‘Subject’ line.

4. Avoid submitting invalid misorders. For example in spring 1901 if Italy orders A(Ven) s RUSSIAN A(Gal)-Vie [to tell Russia he wants an alliance against Austria] this will be reported as A(Ven) Stands as it's an invalid misorder. If however Austria orders F(Tri)-Alb and Italy A(Ven) s AUSTRIAN F(Tri) then the latter will simply be reported as a misorder.

5. End Game Proposals (EGP) aren't allowed until after A05. After A05, any EGP must be a fair reflection on the state of the board when the EGP is presented. If it isn't, I'll not display it. When EGP are shown, players must submit together with their orders, etc, their vote. Failure to vote equals 'yes' to the EGP.

6. No press, shown in the adjudication, is allowed expect from me.
