In the opening stages often the countries in the Eastern Square & the Western Corner have no bearing on the other section however not in this case. France & Italy bounced.
Regarding the remaining countries in the Eastern Square, all three of them had a bounce with Austria getting two & I'm sure they will not be happy about Venice.
As for the Western Square, England sailed to the Channel & Germany has shown an interest in the Lowlands.
