SNAKE HEAD - Autumn 1901
GM Ally Bain
I think Italy will laugh when he reads his misorder or perhaps more when he reads the French orders.

The Austrian & the Turks alliance together with Germany doing something similiar will be meant by a crying Russian.

I wonder if England is happy with their build?

PRESS

ALB: I aware that Yewl Tide is a long way off however when submitting your orders please let me know if you're on holiday, etc, & do wish an extended deadline.

Rom Gov't - Vie Gov't: My hunch is that you did not attack Venice, but as I had nothing better to do with army (and didn’t want it off abroad in Tunis) thought I’d best cover my ass.

Rom Gov't - Lon Gov't: Italian map makers are asking me if they should be renaming a certain waterway to “The French Channel”; please advise if they should proceed

Rom Gov't - Par Gov't: Italy fully supports your right to occupy Marseilles with an army – let me know when you are going to be occupied elsewhere so I can move East ….

Rom Gov't - Ber Gov't: Excellent – we are agreed to DMZ of Switzerland. A good first step.

Rom Gov't - StP Gov't: Yes, Rome is a nice place to visit. Please come unarmed.

Rom Gov't - Con Gov't: Helllooooo, echo echo, echo (pass the Opium)

Vie Gov't: Field Marshal Count Von Haehtrarp looked out of the window and watched the peasants celebrating in the Grand square. What a difference three weeks make. His armies were victorious in the wild lands of Serbia, the upstarts in Rum had been shown what happens when you try and play three super powers against each other, the land lay in taters.

He only had a few problems to solve. The Royal Navy ( he kept the old title because of tradition) had been ordered to sea, and the buggers had popped into Albania to take advantage of the local nudist beaches. "Good God" he thought, "Three thousand hair-assed sailors running run bolocko, thank goodness video had not been invented yet".

"Who is the Admiral in charge of the fleet?" he thundered to an aid.

"Admiral Fish sir" was the reply.

( queue eppy !)

The footman rushed in with a dustpan and broom, and cleared up the smashed table/chairs/window and a signed portrait of that great father figure Ally Bain.

Von Haehtrarp took a deep breath. "Ok, secretary, take a letter please..... To the editor of SPIN... Sir, in future would it be to much trouble for you're staff to check out the credentials of the persons placing adverts in your gutter press ?. I have spent a great deal of money on hiring so called ""professionals", who are advertised in what you call a paper. They have not delivered, what are you going to do about it?"

ALB - Vie Gov't: Dear Field Marshal Count Von Haehtrarp, The reason I'm allowing gutter press is that I understand newspapers will one-day become tabloid newspapers that will be as good a use as used toilet paper. For some reason the tabloids will make money whereas used toilet paper does a fair degree less. I simply can't help it if I want to make money now before the other idiots join in therefore more gutter press is added below. (Between you & I, I think people who aren't prepared to show their name come from a rather bad background however like any good capitalist, the more I earn the more good I feel).

Anon: From the headlines of the infamous world news leader, we bring you the Seasonal Press International Newspaper ("SPIN"). With a readership of a staggering 6 individuals, SPIN is your source for happenings, happenstance, sheer idle gossip, and unfounded conjecture. Whether it happened or not, you'll find probing investigative reporting interesting and plausible.

Headline; "Sultan's Expansion Gets Spicey" -- In an effort to expand Turkey's already bloated spice empire, the Sultan has ordered that all haste be made to occupy the coastal province of Greece. "We need more ships, more ports, and more slaves. The former two items can easily be acquired in Greece, the latter will come soon enough if our Austrian neighbors even mildly object to Turkey's rightful occupation of Greece." When asked for comment, the Austrian leadership released the following statement: "As all rational men will attest, the cradle of Western Democracy cannot ever fall at the hands of a Jihad. Austria stands ready to defend that which is every person's God given right: Freedom to walk amongst those statues, buildings, and monuments that echo and enforce our precious liberties, and Gyro sandwiches free from high Turkish tariffs."

Headline; "Compass Failure on French Flagship Leads to Mishap" -- A costly compass failure on the HMS La Fleur Ceillet has inadvertantly lead to an inter-national incident. After straying far off course and finding himself in the English Channel when he meant merely to sail along the coast of Picardy, Rear Admiral Pepe "Ironbottom" de Saint-Exupery asked for an audience with the English delegation to explain his predicament and formally apologize on behalf of France. Since the Rear Admiral also held the rank of ambassador plenipotentiary, the high court of England was willing to take an audience with him and hear his position. According to English sources, that the Rear Admiral returned to his ship after the meeting without pants or uniform and with only a barrel to cover himself is in no way an indication that relations between England and France have gone sour. The French maintain that the English stole the Rear Admiral's uniform and forced him to return to his ship in dishonor after performing 'hours of parlor tricks for their amusement.' However, the official English position is slightly different. "We have nothing but respect and admiration for our French neighbors," a senior English scribe was quoted as saying. "We just wish they shared the same dress codes of all European gentlemen. Though they may feel differently, not every occassion has to end in debauchary and nudity."
