SNAKE HEAD - Spring 1905
GM Ally Bain
Is Germany running away from England & France or about to attack either Austria or Russia?

The supported Turkish fleets bounced. Plently of countries came to see Italy.

PRESS

Anon: From the headlines of the infamous world news leader, we bring you the Seasonal Press International Newspaper (“SPIN”). With a readership of a staggering 6 individuals, SPIN is your source for happenings, happenstance, sheer idle gossip, and unfounded conjecture. Whether it happened or not, you'll find our probing investigative reporting interesting and plausible.

Message from Editor: "SPIN Sues and Pursues Italy" -- In an effort to contain costs and defray rising subscription rates to you, our loyal readership, SPIN has no choice but to take the Italian government to court for failure to pay its bill in a timely manner. After last season's bizarre departure by the Italian leader, SPIN can only assume that he has no intention of paying the lofty amount of late fees he has accrued over the past year or so. Failure to appear in an international court on the charges of "fraud" and "failure to pay for services rendered" will result in the execution of a court-ordered man hunt for the accused and immediate incarceration and/or deportation. A war-crime tribunal is being formed in the event it is discovered that the Italian leader has willingly decided to deceive SPIN. We hope that our actions in no way frightens our loyal readers who pay their seasonal SPIN subscriptions in a timely manner. We only wish to send a stern warning to those who would try and cheat our honorable publication.

Headline: "Austrian Leader Makes Hefty Addition" -- SPIN and the world were recently shocked to learn of Field Marshal Count Von Haehtrarp's attempts to quit smoking. While the world's health experts have never found any reason to suspect smoking as anything more than a social accoutrement to a fine ale, there does exist a radical fringe group of doctors who feel that the "death sticks" do in fact pose a real threat to human well-being. What is not known outside of the Austrian military establishment is that the Count's decision to quit smoking has adversely affected his eating habits: Instead of lighting up, he is pigging out. By some accounts the Count has ballooned to weigh over 300 pounds and cannot ride his horse into battle anymore. His sword looks like a toothpick in his chubby hands and his troops whisper that they should load him into their catapult since he is necessarily the heaviest object they could lob at the enemy. Time will soon tell whether this new wrinkle of events will have any effect on Austria's survival.
