Vie - All: The Badger Republic would like to announce the commissioning of a new class of dreadnought, namely the "Turnip Harvest" class. This is in response to spurious allegations of irrevelance from the German Nation.

Moscow - Russian citizens are still aflutter over the appointment of their new Tsar. It seems that flotillas bearing vodka were seen departing from St Pete and from Sevastapol in the wee hours yesterday. Rumor has it that part of the Tsar's new economic plan is to spread vodka from pole to pole. One citizen, commenting on the condition of anonymity, said "I don't know which is more daft, the new Tsar or his wife. Think about it comrade. Sending ships of vodka to other countries instead of armies? It's just plain lunacy."

In a prepared statement to the other countries of Europe, the Tsar had this to say. "Civilized [and not so civilized] comrades of Europe. Please do not be alarmed by seeing movements of the Russian navies and armies across the board. These are not navies or armies at all. Rather, they are vodka ambassadors and come bearing Mother Russia's finest. Cannons have been replaced with funnels and ice luges and guns have been replaced with shot glasses. So there really is no cause for alarm. In fact, have a drink on us and buy Russian vodka!"

This reporter, for one, is truly concerned.
