PRESS

Andy-All:
Please do NOT forget to include retreats in next season's (S1902) orders!

Thanks to all of you who took the time and effort to send press (Russia!),

Mos-All:
The Russian Press:

While negotiations with our southern neighbor are shaky at best, we seem to have good relations with France. A trade has recently been established of fine wine from France, in return for Vodka kept at freezing temperatures. (We will send it packed in genuine Moscow snow).

However, it seems that France is at odds with our northern neighbor, England. If we could indeed REACH them with our military units, we ourselves may have been in the middle of a battle for the coveted English Channel.

In other news, while we are hoping for peaceful relations on all our borders, we are persuant in trying to reach a treaty with our Austrian neighbors. Only time will tell.

We have not yet heard anything from Italy, but we are persuant to peace.

The Russian people rejoiced as a hearty French Burgundy arrived on the shores of St. Petersburg. The people laughed racously as the French frigate slipped past the English Fleet in the North Sea.

After an immense wine and cheese festival, to which the French sailors happily accepted an invitation, Russian citizens shouted in the streets "Now, we must make absolut Vodka for our French allies! To the potato fields! Quickly!"

Subsequent to the shouting, a Russian mob emptied the Ukranian potato fields of every potato and three slow running moles. One Russian potato farmer was heard shouting "Great! We'll have meat in our potato soup!" Another farmer slowed the celebration slightly by shouting, "NO! NO!THAT'S MY HOUSECAT!"

Fortunately, the housecat escaped the mob without injury. However, in fleeing the scene, it ran straight into the canine division of the Russian army stationed in the area. A Russian wolfhound chased the cat towards the festival. The housecat was later found atop a willow tree, while the

wolfhound was at the base of the tree enjoying a nice bowl of burgundy. As of press time, we are still trying to discern where the bowl of burgundy came from.

The Russian Press:

While war is breaking out across the map, Mother Russia is still having a very difficult time with our Southern neighbor. The presence of military in the Black Sea (which was SUPPOSED to be a demilitarized zone) is a forboding sign of betrayal and debauchery. The grapevine has it that Austria is also a major threat, although the words of its leader are pleasant and comely. Our leader is taking the words of the Austrian leader with a grain of salt, and will be acting cautiously with this man.
