Please do NOT forget to include retreats in next season's (S03) orders!

Please note that the day and time of the next Adjudication have changed from the normal!!! This is because I have to go into hospital for a minor operation so I want to adjudicate before this rather than hold the game up. If this causes anybody aproblem please can they let me know ASAP so we can work our way around it, thanks.

I also want to thank those of you that sent it some great press this turn, To my mind it is what makes the difference between a good game and a great game so keep up the Great Work :-))

TURKISH PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS DELAY CAMPAIGN

In a bid to keep their positions after the upcoming election, most of Turkey's Parliament voted against the Sultan's plan to attack Russia in conjunction with the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Emperor Franz Josef expressed great displeasure over the lack of Turkish initiative. "These petty political games in Turkey have ruined any chances of appreciable gains against Russia this year. I am utterly disgusted with the Sultan's apparent inablility to control his ministers. This incident casts doubt upon the future of an Austro-Turkish alliance."

Recent reports indicate that the Sultan has gained control of the Parliament and has forced the resolution. A source close to the Sultan was quoted as saying, "He was furious. But now he has regained control, and taken swift retribution. I doubt something like this will ever happen again, not for a hundred years."

Lon-All:
Premier Woolfenden receives message from his East European Ambassadors that there is discontent between various powers aboutthe strength of the Western Alliance. Germany adopts a policy of Scorched earth as it disbands armies and scuttles fleets. A sand end to a once proud power nation. The English security services have reported to Premier Woolfenden the failed attempts my other powers to breach the England's extensive security systems. Premier Woolfenden has now given permission for England's own extensive, very advanced and likely destructive systems to be released as counter measures should the security services feel it necessary. Premier Woolfenden has however instructed that counter measures must remain within the legal framework of acceptable practice and denied permission for for England's own security services (who are highly skilled, highly educated and run real world seminars in these matters) to release fatally damaging strikes. Premier Woolfenden further stated 'I am concerned that standards of behaviour are at an appropriate level and that we do not sink to the levels of some powers just to show we can be smarter than they are'.

"French fleet on leave in the Costa del Sol"

The gallant crew of the French battleship 'Asterix' are on extended leave and enjoying glorious sunshine in the Spanish province of Andalucia. Spirits are high and there is an air of peace in the ports on this beautiful coastline. A senior ranking naval officer said 'C'est magnifique!' and indicated that he would retire to the quiet area around the historic city of Malaga. In the glow of the deep azure and ochre sunset one can only laugh at the predictions of the famous futurologist Nostradamus XII's indications that this area would become overrun with 'barbarous English hordes' in but a few decades time...

In other news, the French government has reacted to the expulsion of our ambassador to Berne, itself a diplomatic consequence of the deteriorating relations between Paris and the Swiss cantons. The president is reputed to be considering an 'appropriate' response involving a ban on all timepieces containing cuckoos ...

Con-All:
Newsline from Turkey.

Sultan Troy was busy searching for the ruins of his namesake this Spring, trusting Chief Advisor with military operations. Returning home and finding his armies in disarray, Sultan Troy ordered the execution of his Chief Advisor and vowed to command his armies personally. Uplifted by their leader's solemn oath, the Turkish soldiers sprung forward with renewed vigor this Fall.
