PRESS

Andy-All:
Please do NOT forget to include retreats in next season's (S05) orders!

A Big thank you to those of you that sent it some more great press this turn, keep up the Great Work :-)) Also a sad good bye t Tony Kilner who stuck with a very forlorn Germany right up until the end Thanks Tony! Let me have your EGP ASAP and I look forward to meeting up with you again here on Dip 2000.

Vie-All:
SAREJEVO LIBERATED!!

When Austrian forces re-captured the city today, there was little evidence of the Italian occupation. Several fields outside the city had been cordoned off and marked as a "Spaghetti Plantation", but there was no sign of any crop.

Communications were also re-established with the Great Fleet, and we learned to our great surprise the Captain of the Hapsburg, Flagship of the Fleet, had used the time to capture the Italian colonies in Africa. The Emperor, in an effort to gain favor after his disastrous "slip of the tongue" earlier this year, praised the efforts of our naval officers, and extended his personal greetings to every man aboard the Fleet.

Vie-All:
TURKS IN BELGRADE!!

In a show of duplicity that is prevalent among the supposed 'allies' of the Empire, Turkish troops have taken advantage of our friendship and the military need to drive out the Italians, and have slipped over the border from Rumania to take control of the Kingdom of Serbia. The Emperor had no comment, but is reportedly furious. Religous leaders across the Empire are asking "Why?" Why did we ally ourselves with the heathen, and allow our compatriots the Germans to fall by the wayside? The government has no answer. Arch-Duke Franz Ferdinand, known to be opposed to the Turkish alliance, was last known to be in Belgrade, preparing for an offensive against the Italians. His fate can only be guessed at.

Lon-All:

Premier Woolfenden announces more work for shipyards as England rules the waves and sails towards the Italian Rivera. 'All will soon be ours' Proclaims the the First Sea Lord. The Iraqi ex Information Minister announces to the World ' There is no need to worry you Rowena's, the English they have no power and no Fleets and cannot possible outsmart all the rest of you'.

Par-Switzerland:

Soon you will be surrounded and then what will you do...? Increase ski lift charges no doubt.

Switzerland-Par:

And Eat cheese and chocalate :-)) We won't sleep well but we used to that having the French for neighbours!!!

Par - Ank:

On my on-screen map your fleets look like submarines - yellow submarines ;)

Par - German government in exile:

Good luck with your retirement herr Kaiser. We have enjoyed capturing your gothic cities and wish to assure you that German citizens will now be happier on diets of Champagne and snails.

Par - Rom:

The french govenrment wishes to inform his exalted Italian premier that he has merely 'borrowed' his province on his way west. Honest.

Par - Lon:

Couldn't take the excitement of Brussels bureaucracy then?

Par - Ank:

That's not very friendly now, is it?

Rom - All:

Expletive deleted.

Con - All:

The Turkish government says it did not make the recent proposal to unite Europe under its rule. Apparently, some are eager to enjoy the benefits enjoyed by Turkish citizens. Sultan Troy has voted against the proposal, as he doesn't believe in taking what hasn't been earned.
