Gentlemen, I submit that the diplomacy around here is starting to grind to a halt. With France surely fated to join Russia the pool of players will probably be down to five following the autumn ‘06 turn with both A & I coming under severe pressure. In such circumstances I think it is reasonable to propose, come 1907, a move to single week deadlines - assuming of course that our GM can accommodate them. Those players left have demonstrated that they are competent at submitting orders on time and I see no reason why we should not continue to do so on single week deadlines. A move to one week deadlines will allow the game to finish sooner, without in my opinion diminishing the diplomacy below the present level. I’d like to pay tribute to Andy for the speediness of his adjudications to date. If he can’t do single weeks (and accepting there will be some turbulence around Christmas if we reach it), then that’s that. Also if any of you fellow players have reservations about your ability to submit orders or diplome to your satisfaction over just a week, then so be it.”
