'Over the last few months the prize for austrian wheat soared due to the first signs of war devastating the fertile ground of Galicia. The Emperor urges every citizen of the Empire to help defeat the enemies, EAT LESS WHEAT.

In Vienna a strange plague is spreading. With the "Wiener Nachrichten" another newspaper had to close today due to this. A Ministry of Health spokesman said that the plague was a serious mental illness endangering the proper austrian perspective in the land of every citizen exposed to news, thus especially those working for newspapers and gazettes.'

Rome-All:

The Italian government has defended its incursion into Trieste, saying that intelligence reports raised the fear that Austria was stockpiling noxious substances which may be used as chemical weapon agents. Those reports appear to have been based on references to "wieners" and "kurrier" in telephone conversations between high-ranking Austrian government agents, which the Italian secret service intercepted. A Habsburg spokesman dismissed the claims that the words were code for poisonous biological agents, saying Austrian sausages don't taste all that bad, but the evidence was described as "cogent" by visiting American diplomats, who have publicly defended Italy's right to annihilate any other nation that may, at some time in the future, pose a threat to its security
