Rome: Jubilant scenes greeted the arrival of liberating coalition forces in Constantinople. A crowd of nearly 50 ecstatic Turks and a couple of hundred foreign journalists helped Italian troops destroy a statue of the former brutal dictator Sultan Konrad the Kruel, then posed ofr photographs before asking if the soldiers would not mind rebuilding their destroyed city. The coalition hopes now to liberate the city of Ankara, which fell into the hands of Armenian separatists last week and whose hinterland, with its enormous oil reserves, is of great cultural significance to the Turkish people. The Commander of coalition forces, General Cocktail Franks, has promised the coalition will hold the nation's natural resources "in trust" for its people.
