The game is called "Incoming!" - after the little euphemism that the military like to use when under enemy fire. It seemed appropriate to a Diplomacy game.
The line-up is as follows...
Austria: Matt Williams - lonewolf_e@hotmail.com
England: Chris Gillotti - baldeagle1286@aol.com
France: Alex Williams - happy.fish@ntlworld.com
Germany: Peter Scholey - PETERSCHOLEY@BTOPENWORLD.COM
Italy: Matthew Schweizer - metaschweitz85@hotmail.com
Russia: David Jackson - davy9922@yahoo.com
Turkey: Robert Gilman - rainfrog_japan@yahoo.com
Of those of you who expressed a preference, nobody got worse than their second choice - pretty good going in my experience.
Please (if you have not already done so) make sure that you get a copy of the house rules off the Diplomacy 2000 site - read these carefully as they may contain wrinkles you are not familiar with (conventions vary around the world). For those of you not familiar with the British / European convention, note well that this game will run on 2 season years. In other words I need conditional retreat orders for all units for which a retreat is possible for each season. In the Autumn season, I need disband and build orders. Build orders can be conditional on the location of other units but not on other players' builds.
Please try to send me a provisional set of orders for Spring 1901 as soon as possible - apart from being a sound practice anyway, it confirms to me that you want to play. Orders can be changed at any time up until the deadline. I will normally confirm back receipt of orders to you so that you know they have arrived.
The deadline for Spring 1901 orders will be Friday 6th June at 18.00 hours GMT. Thereafter we will be running 2 week deadlines. (My deadlines are almost always at 18.00 hours GMT on a Friday). Although I will accept late orders up until the time when I adjudicate, you would be very unwise to rely on this as I will be dealing with the game on Friday nights on most occasions.
You may commit any sort of horrible act of deceit upon each other but DECEPTION OF THE GM is totally forbidden. Have a good game and above all, enjoy yourselves.
Brian Frew
