PRESS

Two more contributions to our list of victorious commanders who died in victory.

Battle of Jersey 1781 - the commander of the victorious British forces, Major Pierson, was killed evicting the French from the Channel Islands (in what proved to be their final attempt at invasion).

Lloyd: It may have been me who suggested the other 'died after victory' (almost) suggestion, with St Arnaud dying soon after the Alma.

I can make another obscure one myself...Douglas who was killed in his victory over Percy at Otterburn (in fact I have called my next game Otterburn). I am a Douglas on my mothers side but I try not to get too upset!

Anyway - a very interesting turn chaps. This certainly looks like a game to watch.
