This wasn't a very easy game to assign the countries to as a lot of you wanted similar things and there was a marked disinclination for some countries. I think I have managed it so that nobody has anything they really loathed!
Please (if you have not already done so) make sure that you get a copy of the house-rules off the Diplomacy 2000 site. For those of you not familiar with the British / European convention, note well that this game will run on 2 game years. In other words I need conditional retreat orders for all units for which a retreat is possible for each season. In the Autumn season I need disband and build orders. Build orders can be conditional on the location of other units but not on other players' builds. Please try to send me a provisional set of orders for Spring 1901 as soon as possible - apart from being a sound practice anyway, it confirms to me that you want to play. Orders can be changed at any time up until the deadline. I will confirm back receipt of orders to you so that you know they have arrived. The deadline for orders will be Friday 11th May 2001 at 6.00 PM GMT. (I know this is slightly less than 3 weeks, but I am attempting to keep all my games together - I made a horrible cock-up on one occasion when I didn't!). Although I will accept late orders up until the time when I adjudicate you would be very unwise to rely on this as I will be dealing with the game on Friday nights on most occasions. You may commit any sort of horrible act upon each other but DECEPTION OF THE GM is totally forbidden. I hope that you enjoy the game (from what Tom has told me it certainly sounds like it should be a lively one). All the best Brian Frew
