GERMANY (Ken Marten) I'm disappointed in this game. But then again, sequels and remakes are seldom as good as the original.
We started out fine, but communication dwindled shortly. I did manage to stay in relatively regular contact with Andy (France), Giddy (Russia) and somewhat with Ray (Austria). However, Peter (Turkey) and John Fowler (England) quickly reverted to their incommunicado status already documented in the Andrew I endgame statements. As for Sandor, well, I don't know what to say. He seems like a player that would never NMR, so I can only assume his military duties took him into the field and away from frivolities like Dip. I wish him well and the best of luck.
I don't feel the need to go into details of the game, as there were no great feats. It went along at a regular pace without terrific acts of treachery or sacrifice, without landmark messages, without any real flare. I'm not sure how this one would have played out, but I've a feeling France and Russia would have eventually squeezed me to minor power status. However, due to the anarchies in Italy and Turkey, I think Austria would have grown to cause Russia major pains and perhaps coming to Germany's rescue before it was too late.
But hypothesis is here nor there at this point. Thanks, Steve, for the GMing, although I'm still not sure how I didn't receive one of the adjudications somewhere toward the end of the game. It must, as Steve mentioned, gotten lost in the galaxy of cyberspace. And thanks to the players that stuck to the premature end of Andrew II.

GM (Steve Turner) I too was disappointed in this game. Too many NMRs spoiled it and when a player like Giddy is fed up you know something is amiss. Sandor did contact me after his first NMR to say that he'd been unable to get to a computer (he's in the US marines) and would send some orders in in time for the next adjudication. But a couple of days later it was September 11th. As for Ken not receiving the adjudication I can only put it down problems with my ISP which don't appear to have been resolved as I type.Return to Top
